On May 8th, 2024, Rajalakshmi Children Foundation took 150+ Pratibha Poshak scholars, who are studying in 10th grade, to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bengaluru.We believe in learning by doing. So, we took our students to the planetarium to learn about space. They had a great time exploring scientific systems like the Solar System, Newton’s color plate, Water Fountain, Heat & Light, and many other things.

We celebrated National Mathematics Day at Government Kannada Higher Primary No. 24 Mahantesh Nagar in honour of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Students from various schools in Belagavi City participated in a range of activities, with a highlight being a hands-on 3D model creation workshop. During the workshop, students created shapes like cones, cubes, and cylinders, which helped them gain a better understanding of math and sparked their curiosity and creativity.

Pratibha Poshak talent search process for academic year 2023-24 has started. This year, we are planning to select students from seven education districts - Belagavi, Chikkodi, Dharwad, Bagalkot, Uttara Kannada, Gadag and Haveri. More than 60,000 8th grade students have written the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS) conducted in Jan 2023 by the department of education.

Two of our students, Varsha Korimath and Sanjana Chittapache,were invited to IISER Pune (https://www.iiserpune.ac.in/) to demonstrate science models on the occasion of National Science Day. Their models were on early detection and alert system to reduce damage from landslides and avalanches and on early detection of forest fires.
